Father God,
In Colossians we are told that as part of the community of believers, part of the body of Christ there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Bear with each other and forgive one another - if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds everything together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.
Father, we come to you thankful that because of all Christ has done we are your people, holy and dearly loved. How amazing is that and Father we pray that in the midst of such a distracted and busy time, Jesus might become our focus and our center and that as we recognize the grace that has saved us that even in this troubled and broken world we would clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; help us be a people that know and show grace.
Father, in these crazy days we pray that you would help us let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, that you would help us forgive others just as you have forgiven us, that you would help us put aside our personal agendas to become your peacemakers. Father, help us as imperfect as we are to move forward in love – love for you, love for each other and love for others. Help us look at others with love in our hearts so much so that we don’t see that which divides, but only that which binds us all in perfect unity; the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Abba Father, we love you and pray in the most wonderful and remarkable and beautiful name of Jesus Christ...Amen and Amen!
